Conor Byrne Pub Presents: A Tribute to the Life and Music of Nanci Griffith ~ Thursday, Oct. 2nd, 2025 ~ 8pm - 11pm
October 2, 2025 - October 2, 2025
A stellar group of local artists perform their favorite songs from celebrated singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith, whose musical legacy led to what is now called Americana.
Nanci Griffith left us in 2021 with a legacy of songwriting and showmanship. From farm roots just outside Austin to entrancing small listening audiences in Houston to big-label action in Nashville to five straight nights at the Royal Albert Hall in London, it was all powered by her love of the song, songwriting and songwriters.
The Nanci Griffith Tribute Night connects the growing Conor Byrne Co-op songwriting community to a sometimes-overlooked superstar of roots-based musicians. A bit folky, and a talented guitarist with a distinctive country-tinged voice capable of arena-worthy rock and pop, Nanci Griffith’s unequalled songcraft combined performer and message.
